The Busperson creates a welcoming environment for guests by ensuring the restaurant is clean, free from trash and debris, tables are set up properly and resetting tables. Assist waitstaff as needed. Maintain side station by stocking, cleaning, and making beverages when warranted.

  • Set and reset tables according to restaurant/resort standards.

  • Wipe and stock silverware.

  • Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring bread, butter and water to table.

  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.

  • Stock service stations with linens, china, silverware, condiments, etc.

  • Performs dining room set-up and side work duties as delegated by waitstaff or managers/supervisor.

  • Arrange dining room tables and chairs as needed and according to standards set by restaurant manager.

  • Maintains dining room safety and sanitation.

  • Clear dirty tables and transport to dish room.

  • Check floor and clean as required.

  • Sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. then take to the dishroom.

Qualifications

  • Bussing experience preferred, but not necessary

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, hands to feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The position is indoors and outdoors; and is exposed to wet, hot, humid and/or cold conditions at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The staff member will work in a high traffic/high volume business environment and will be required to spend a majority of their time on their feet.
