To ring up sales for customers.

  • Obtain and verify bank and open register.

  • Request change order if needed.

  • Assist customers in selection of merchandise.

  • Respond to guests’ needs and relay comments to supervisor.

  • Collect and process cash/charges using computerized POS System.

  • Check in, inspect and tag new merchandise.

  • Restock merchandise.

  • Close out POS System; count bank, balance and return.

  • Display merchandise in shop and shop windows.

  • Gift wrap packages as needed.

  • Take monthly inventory.

  • List merchandise to be ordered.

  • Vacuum, dust and straighten shop.

  • Move racks as needed.

  • Hang, ticket and steam clothes.

  • Maintain store supplies, i.e., register paper, bags, etc. and put request into manager and/or supervisor.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Retail Supervisor and/or Manager.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years or older

  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not necessary

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, hands to feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The position is indoors; and is exposed to hot and/or cold conditions at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The staff member will work in a high traffic/high volume business environment and will be required to spend a majority of their time on their feet.
